If you’re an avid reader, you’ve probably heard of Jojo Moyes’ book, “Me before You” and if you’ve read the book, you’re probably just as anxious for the release of the film later this year.
If you have no idea what I am talking about, watch the trailer:
The book grabbed my heart to the extent that I actually read the book twice, something that has never happened to me. (Maybe now I’ll read ‘The Fault in our Stars’ again?) I’ve also read the sequel, “After You” and secretly, I am really holding thumbs for a third installment!
Bumble Bee Tights
In the first book, we meet the quirky Louisa Clark, brave enough to wear her own fashion creations but too scared to experience the world. We walk with her through her hopes and fears. We see her ending a boring relationship and we see her daring the unknown – daring to love fully, vulnerably and courageously.
I’m not sure when I stopped daring. You know, that moment when practical triumphs all? But Louisa Clark and her Bumble Bee Tights have made me realise that I am no longer willing to settle. I would rather wait patiently and alertly for my perfect opportunity than settle for where I am right now.
I want to live a full life.
I want to give more of myself, unafraid and boldly.
I want the courage to live outside the boundaries of practical.
Without spoiling the first or second book, I will say that in the second book we learn that often time this kind of brave living means you get hurt. Ultimately it is still better to live a full, passionate life and deal with disappointment along the way, than living a monotonous dull life.

Oh I loved those books – the first one of course is one of those “one of a kind” books and the second one gave a good glance into her life after Will. I think one reach a stage where you feel you need to live life more to the full. Where the usual is just not enough and the voice inside screams to be heard.
