I recently celebrated my 29th birthday. The day was simply perfect…
I woke up to the sound of “happy birthday to you” , the way any person should – filled with giggles and little voices. I was also informed that I would be having a slice of the cake that was chosen for me by “the Boys”.
The husband did really well with my birthday presents this year. He combined my love for gadget and my love for photos and got me a digital photo-frame. Ever the practical with an awesome purple yoga mat. And lastly he touched the very sentimental-word-freak in me, with these special thoughts:
Thankfully cake wasn’t breakfast, instead I was treated to a scrumptious breakfast including K’s favourite “pap and kaiings”. And just like that my birthday was declared a non-banting, carb-loaded day.
After breakfast we made our way to the Moreleta Kloof Nature Reserve, a lovely little nature reserve in the heart of Pretoria. We had our first hike post-pram. There were a couple of whiny toddler moments, but nothing that couldn’t be handled.
Here is some of my favourite pictures of the day
Logan Selfie number 1, followed by 2 and 3. (keep an eye on the background)
Here comes Kobus…
K turns around, waits for and motivate Oliver…
Oliver finally catches up – at least for the next minute or two… then the whining starts again.
P.S. This was right at the end of our walk.
The evening we had real Italian pizza for dinner, none of the cauliflower pizza base jazz. The real thing, and let me tell you – it was beautiful!
I love celebrating life and my single biggest aim for the last year of my twenties, is that I will embrace life and the little things life have to offer. Enjoy every moment and make every moment a memory filled with live and laughter!
