In this blog post I do a full reveal of the 2019 GAP calendar, the link to purchase the calendar is at the bottom of the page.
If you follow me on Instagram, you would have noticed that the final link in my little goals series, is what I refer to as the GAP Calendar.

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve covered various topics related to goals and goal achievement. If you have followed along on the journey you will a clear understanding of what your long-term goal is. The areas you want to focus on and what the intrinsic reward will be, if you achieve your goal.
If you are new to The Curious Wildflower, this blog post will get you right on track:
Are You Ready To Smash Your Goals In Life This Year?
Goal Achievement Plan
The word, gap, has many meanings – all of which I like, but in this instance, GAP, refers to your Goal Achievement Plan. We have covered what
Meghan Markle said something pretty profound. She said: “Don’t give it 5 minutes, if you’re not going to give it 5 years.”

This little quote has sparked a couple of thoughts in my mind:
1. Prioritise you Time and Resources
Wasting 5 minutes on something that is bad for us, may seem like nothing right now, but in the long run – it all adds up. By prioritising our time and resources, we are focusing on the what matters to us, right now.
How much time, do we waste on wondering whether we said or did the right thing? How much time do we mindlessly waste while browsing through social media?
It’s time to start believing in our own self-worth, it is time to start valuing our own time – because, you know what? We are good enough!

2. Let’s Agree to Stop Calling it a New Years Resolution?
If we’re lucky it will take us a year to reach a certain goal. But if we are being honest, it may take us a whole lot longer. You know what, that’s okay, in fact it is good!
Here’s what I propose – let’s give it 5 years!
If we’re prepared to work hard on a daily basis for the next 5 years on achieving the goal we’ve set out for ourselves, I guarantee you, we will smash the goal, in a sustainable way – a whole lot faster!
The GAP Calendar
The gap calendar is designed to help you bridge the gap, between where you are now, and where you envision your life in 5 years from now.
As a child, my mom used to use the phrase, ‘just give me a gap‘ frequently. I used to hate it! However, as a mom of two boys, I fully understand the need for some personal space myself.
Life is hard enough as it is already!
All we need, is some rest, time to reflect and consider our possibilities, in order to achieve our goals.
The GAP Calendar allows you to stop, reflect and determine your next course of action, prior to hitting the rat-race at full force!
Here’s a breakdown of the features of the GAP Calendar:
1. Write Down Your Goals
Neuroscience has confirmed that writing down your goals leads to goal achievement. Interesting enough, that doesn’t count when you are typing your goals.
Want your Word of the Year for 2019 to be a success? (1.)
Write it down, every month, for 12 months and see how it becomes a reality in your life.
The Gap Calendar provides you with space to write down your 3 monthly or quarterly goals (2.) along with your monthly goals. (3.)
It allows you to view these two sets of goals side-by-side next to each other.

Weekly Planning (4.) allows you to focus on a single task per focus area, every week.
Not only will you see you quarterly and monthly planning side-by-side, but you can take it a step further and plan weekly tasks to enable you to reach your goals.
The Monthly Calendar card helps you to carry-over your goals from your calendar to your planner. (5.)
The Gap Calendar comes with a handy calendar card for every month of the year, that helps you integrate your goals from home to where-ever you find yourself throughout the day.

It also helps you track (5.) and evaluates (6.) your success on a daily- and monthly basis!
2. Plan Your Goals
Every month, is a new opportunity to track and plan your goals. Once you have evaluated the current month’s success, you are tasked with flipping over the page and plan the following month’s focus areas.
This allows you to redefine your goal. Try a different approach or refocus on a whole new aspect of your goal achievement.
To put it simply – you don’t have to give up on your goal all together!
Sometimes, you simply need a gap, to redefine your priorities and refocus your energy in a different way.
Have you ever forgotten to do your quarterly planning?
I know I have and kinda do all the time. With the Gap Calendar, the three monthly goals are positioned visually next to your monthly planning.
Not only is the size of the calendar page larger every 3 months it is also, a different, colour and texture.
It therefore, makes it really easy to remember the next quarter’s focus, before it is too late.
3. See Your Goals Visually!
It’s really easy to have your goals written in a bullet journal or notebook. But how often will you turn to that specific page of the journal and revisit your goals?
The purpose of a wall calendar is for it to be available to you in a visual manner at all times. While walking past your calendar, it should remind you of your goals and ambitions.
4. Accountability
The Gap Calendar is a wall calendar, that you should hang up in a highly frequented area of your home! This allows your kids, your partner or a family friend to see the calendar and ask you about it.
As you talk about the purpose of the calendar and how it works, you are automatically motivating yourself to get cracking again.
5. A Blank Canvas
I’ve mentioned earlier how the gap calendar allows you to flip over the page and redefine your goals.
What I haven’t mentioned, is the simplistic design. The Gap Calendar allows you to add colour, drawings, stickers and self-expression. No single month has to look the same and as you take the time to express yourself on the calendar, you really are building your own future.
The 2019 GAP Calendar is the first of its kind.
I am so excited to see how the calendar will transform the way we approach goal setting! This year, I am refining the methodology (just call me an industrial psychologist major) and for that reason, I don’t have a proper shop set up just yet. I do, however, have a limited number of calendars available, if you are interested in joining in the fun!

Wow, this is fantastic, Alet! I love the idea of setting goals and re-avaluating them!! I think that’s where I fall short every year… I get all ambitious with creating all these wild and wonderful goals, and then I lose steam about two months in. Staying accountable and being realistic is key – I really like how honest you were in your post about how some goals take a lot longer than we realise… as in years. I never thought of it like that and it’s so true! Well, depending on how big they are ;) I’m so glad you left a comment on my blog post and I found your blog! Will definitely be back for more inspiration, thank you x
Oh, I love it that we can share information and inspire each other! xx
